Medical, Psychiatry and Substance Use Services
- Acute CareWe know that injuries and illnesses often are unexpected! Whether it is a sprained ankle while running to class or you wake up with a sore throat, know that the UHC is here for you! For patients who are in need of urgent medical conditions when they arise, we have multiple options for same day care available.

- Allergy ClinicThe Allergy Clinic administers allergy injections to students under the direction of their allergist or another physician. Allergy injections are administered by appointment only. The University Health Center does not perform initial allergy testing or administer the initial allergy serum at the start of desensitization.

- Psychiatry and Substance Use Services (PASS)The Health Center's Psychiatry and Substance Use Services department is staffed with licensed psychiatrists, and psychiatric nurse practitioners, who are available to assist UMD Students with a variety of mental health conditions. We can also consult with the broader UMD campus community as needed.

- LaboratoryThe Laboratory processes a wide variety of test requests from University Health Center providers and, for a nominal administrative fee, from non-University Health Center medical providers. Some tests are performed in the laboratory and some are sent to designated reference laboratories.

- Physical TherapyPhysical therapy services are available to all students, faculty, and staff members by appointment only. Our highly trained therapists offer a variety of services to help you on your healing journey to get you back to the activities that you enjoy the most.

- Primary CareThe University Health Center’s Primary Care department offers general medical services including evaluation of non-emergency health conditions, routine physicals, and follow up appointments for chronic medical conditions. Primary care providers may refer you for blood work, x-ray, physical therapy or other ancillary services that are all offered within the Health Center as deemed necessary. You can connect with professionals in the Behavioral Health Department for assistance with depression, anxiety and stress.

- Sexual Health MapThis is a map of sexual health resources on UMD's campus and in the surrounding area with the goal of making it easier for students to find sexual health supplies and medical care. UMD does not endorse any off-campus resources. While the map is updated periodically, information may not be entirely accurate. Please be in touch with each site directly to confirm.
- Sports MedicineMultidisciplinary Sports Medicine Staff serving the broad spectrum of physically active campus students and staff focusing on promoting health, exercise, and sports performance.

- X-Ray ServicesX-ray services are offered to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of your illness or injury. After being evaluated by a Health Center provider, an x-ray may be recommended to help guide diagnosis or treatment.

Wellness & Advocacy
- AcupunctureAcupuncture is among the oldest healing practices in the world. As part of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture aims to restore and maintain health through the stimulation of specific points on the body by penetrating the skin with thin, solid, needles (about the width of a hair strand).

- CARE to Stop ViolenceCampus Advocates Respond and Educate to Stop Violence (CARE) keeps information private and confidential. You can tell us as much or as little as you want to; you can even be anonymous. CARE is not an official reporting entity; we are a resource that can help you navigate your options and connect you with the appropriate resources.

- MassageMassage therapy encompasses many different techniques. In general, therapists press, rub, and otherwise manipulate the muscles and other soft tissues of the body. They most often use their hands and fingers, but may use their forearms, elbows, or feet. A variety of massage techniques may be used during your massage.
